The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I spent 4 years at Penn State, playing in the Blue Band drumline and loving it! I graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Accounting, and returned home to work with my dad in his accounting business. Eventually, I met the man of my dreams, Jay Woodcook, who lived just 3 miles down the road from me. After Jay & I married a year later, I worked as an accountant for 10 years after college, spinning off my own business from my dad's. After those 10 years, I chose to leave my accounting career to devote more time to my family and to our coffee shop/cyber cafe. When Jay's employer down-sized, we decided it was a good time to move to Virginia like we had dreamed of doing. We sadly had to close the coffee shop, but it was a good learning experience in many ways. Eventually, I got a job at Curves a year and a half ago, and it's the best thing that happened to me! Within 8 months, I had lost 20 pounds & inches! (The workout really works!) I have a blast with all the ladies I get to work with and encourage at Curves. I never guessed a part-time job not directly connected to my college degree could be so satisfying. I get to stay home when my kids are home! I am truly happy! Maybe some day, when the kids are grown, I'll see where my accounting degree will take me. Until then, I'll cherish every moment with my family.
